I’ve always been a lover of anise, licorice, and tabac — notes I often return to in my Scented Letters. So I was truly anticipating this release. The bottle itself feels right: golden, like the fragrance within. I was not disappointed!
Havana Gold is an ambery fragrance with warmth at its core — textured, modern, and quietly addictive. With notes of tabac, anise, licorice, benzoin, and leather, you might expect something smoldering and bold, yet it wears soft and smooth. It opens with the brightness of mandarin cut by the dark edge of liquorice and star anise, rounded and vivid. Almost immediately, a moist tobacco leaf note and cinnamon begin to rise, adding warmth and depth, shaping the composition into something fuller, more enduring. At the base, a soft suede wraps you in a mantle of warmth.
Though full in body, it wears with balance and restraint, with soft projection and lasting presence. A scent for autumn evenings, late conversations, and moments of ease.
