🍐 51. A Day in My Perfume Journal + Samples

Some weeks, I chart my days by the fragrances I choose—each one an entry in my private journal. Like the blossoms in Nick Fancher’s still life (Photo: Misc), perfume catches the day’s light, eases me into the night, and gently lulls me toward sleep.

Upon awakening, Little Flower by Régime des Fleurs offered fresh rose petals and early-mist dew, followed by and middle morning refreshing yet comforting Dries Van Noten Jardin de l'Orangerie with orange blossom milk & marshmallow, followed by a late mid-morning pick-me-up with Existence by Amouage — the invigorating yet soft clarity of florals warmed by resins. By mid-afternoon, Zouzou by Celine brought a gentle warmth, its golden musk and vanilla as comforting as sunlight on my skin. In the early evening, Guidance 46 by Amouage added a bright note of jammy pear preserves and rose over sandalwood, a sweet moment that lingered. As daylight faded, Soie Malaquais by Dries Van Noten opened with rich blackcurrant and a hint of cacao, the scent growing deeper as evening set in, and Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille closed the day with creamy vanilla and a touch of spice, perfect to welcome nourishing sleep.

Each fragrance stands on its own, but together they mapped out the week—morning clarity, midday warmth, afternoon sweetness, evening depth, and a final spark of coming home and comfort. Wearing them in sequence felt like reading a story written in scent, with every chapter shaping the mood of the day.
