🕊️ 10. A Scented Letter: Eshal — On Easter, Flowers & Turning Toward the Light

This morning at Easter Mass, the priest said something that stayed with me:

“We can orient our lives toward God like sunflowers seeking the light."

A simple image, yet deeply radiant—something I’ve always known in my heart.

Christ is risen.

Like sunflowers in a field of yellow, this moment calls for the turning toward warmth—weightless, open, and free. A quiet moment of softening, when everything begins to bloom inward. Photo: In Focus by Daniel Farò

It reminds me why I named this little studio Nectar Atelier—born from a lifelong love of flowers, hummingbirds, and the quiet beauty of nature. These have always felt sacred to me—tiny vessels of light and grace. My Catholic faith is something I hold close, and I try to carry its stillness, reverence, and joy into everything I create, share, and prepare with care.

So today, I wanted to share something special — Neela Vermeire Eshal, a fragrance that feels like sunlight woven through dewy petals. Crafted by master perfumer Bertrand Duchafour, it opens with a radiant burst of citrus and green freshness, like morning light filtering through tropical leaves, before creamy tuberose blooms against a spicy backdrop of turmeric and cinnamon. A soft veil of beeswax adds tenderness, and the dry down settles into golden warmth as vanilla and patchouli melt into an earthy, quietly radiant expression.

The image below evokes the dewy quality of Eshal and how scent, like a flower, can bring stillness and light—gentle and radiant. The Eshal 10ml Gold Travel Spray makes a beautiful gift. Photo: Misc 3 by Maddie Spanier

The Experience of Eshal
You step into morning light, stillness enveloped in green.
Flower petals sway gently in the breeze.
A bloom of tuberose rises—velvety and luminous.
The air is warm with reverence

How to wear:

Apply gently at your pulse points.
Step outside, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.
Even in uncertainty or pain, turn your face toward the light.
Let the scent open like a flower in sunlight—soft, radiant, and full of grace.
Let the fragrance linger on your skin like morning dew on petals.

What sets Neela Vermeire Creations apart is its soulful approach to perfumery—rooted in Indian heritage, composed in Paris, and crafted with rare, high-quality materials. Each extrait is a story: deeply personal, evocative, and refined. The line is known for its cultural depth, artistic integrity, and collaborations with master perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour.

📖 Let the light find you, today and always.

With kindness,
🕊 Flor at Nectar Atelier

For something equally soft, Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille offers golden warmth—boozy vanilla laced with incense and delicate woods, while Guerlain Gourmand Coquin wraps rose, cacao, and black tea in a swirl of spices—decadent yet tender. Amouage Guidance 46 is a bit brighter than the original Amouage Guidance, where pear, saffron, and rose unfold over rich woods and ambergris. Dries Van Noten Soie Malaquais lingers with notes of blackcurrant, rose, and hazelnut—a silky composition that feels both luminous with a gourmand touch. And for a rare, luminous quietude, Amouage Existence glows with skin-warmed florals, aldehydes, and serene radiance—weightless but unforgettable.
