Musky Gourmand Perfume Guide for Spring
Hi fragrance friend,
There is a category of fragrance I return to again and again, without quite knowing why. It's the feelings, memories, and overall state they evoke and awaken in me.
Musky gourmands are warm, skin-close, and a little addictive. They aren’t sweet in an obvious, sugary way. Instead, they smell like someone you want to be near. In the spring, they just make sense. They don't fill a room; they are meant for closeness.
I’ve always believed that scent is the most honest form of storytelling we have. It’s a language of invisible textures like the grit of a suede note, the velvet of a white musk, the way a certain creaminess can feel like a heavy silk draped over your shoulders.
Here are the four currently top of mind and hitting the spot:
- Musc NuraSana by Crivelli: A clean white musk with a barely-there sweetness. Calm, effortless, with a certain je ne sais quoi.
- Mother’s Milk by Eris: Creamy, skin-warm, and almost edible. To me, it smells like safety.
- Pear Pavlova by French Cowboy: A creamy pear that stays clean rather than syrupy, anchored by a suede-like musk underneath that pulls it somewhere much more interesting. It lingers beautifully.
- Colore del Vento by Nobile 1942 | Dreamy Breeze. It is airy, crystalline, and delicately musky, with a transparent delicately spiced fruity sweetness.
- Caramelito by Chabaud: A whimsical, airy caramel. It is the memory of a sweet treat rather than the taste of one; cloud-like, nostalgic, and incredibly soft.
- Pas de Chat by Odette: A fluffy scent made for the cat lover.
