đź 48. Zouzou by Celine â Perfume Review & Luxe Samples | A Gourmand Scent Cloud
Lately, Iâve been gravitating toward fragrances that feel like a second skin. Maybe itâs the worldâloud, fast, uncertain. Zouzou is the opposite: calm, enveloping, quietly comforting.
Iâve written about Zouzou before, but I just canât resist sharing more in depth. Zouzou by Celine is a quiet kind of magicâa skin scent with soft gourmand warmth, powdery lightness, and effortless elegance. It was love at first sniff.Â
Zouzou is a skin scent with a soft gourmand edgeâeasy to reach for, even easier to love. It opens with a smooth blend of vanilla and tonka bean over sweet, soft musk. Gently sweet, never cloying. A subtle powderiness floats throughoutâclean, nostalgic, but never dated. As it wears, it becomes a featherlight veil: familiar, warm, and transparent.
Thereâs a soft trace of patchouli grounding the blendâwithout any dirtiness. It stays close, expansive, yet intimate.Â
Zouzou evokes certain images:
-
Reading a beloved book in nature
-
Feeling the warmth of candlelightÂ
-
Slipping into sun-warmed fabric
-
Smelling the fresh forest air
-
Contemplating life from a caveÂ
Some compare it to Shalimar, but I find Zouzou gentlerâwithout the animalic nuance. Others mention Le Sully (colder, more iris-driven), or Black Tie by Celine, though Zouzou feels softer, lighter, and more luminous.
Above all, it makes me feel at home in my own skin. If you love elegance without excessâand crave a scent that wears like a pink and gold cloudâ you might fall for Zouzou too.
Is there a scent you reach for that makes you feel this way? Iâd love to know.
With kindness,

For something equally soft, Guerlain Spiritueuse Double Vanille offers golden warmthâboozy vanilla laced with incense and delicate woods, while Guerlain Gourmand Coquin wraps rose, cacao, and black tea in a swirl of spicesâdecadent yet tender. Amouage Guidance 46 is a bit brighter than the original Amouage Guidance, where pear, saffron, and rose unfold over rich woods and ambergris. Dries Van Noten Soie Malaquais lingers with notes of blackcurrant, rose, and hazelnutâa silky composition that feels both luminous with a gourmand touch. And for a rare, luminous quietude, Amouage Existence glows with skin-warmed florals, aldehydes, and serene radianceâweightless but unforgettable. If you are in the mood for a sparkling rose with dewy petals, try Little Flower by RĂ©gime des Fleurs.
