Poetry in Bloom 7 | Summer Green Vanillas — From Fluffy to Luminous & Grounding

👋 Hello fragrance friend,

This week, we explore the world of green vanillas—a category that invites us to experience vanilla in its most natural, textured form. These fragrances evolve from airy and luminous to rich and grounded, each offering a unique kind of comfort and clarity.

My love of vanilla first comes from my love of baking, rooted in sweet memories of afternoons spent in the kitchen with my mother and grandmother. As a Latina, scent and flavor have always been deeply intertwined—vanilla was never just an ingredient, but a way of working with my hands in a feeling of creativity and closeness. As I grew, my connection to sweetness expanded beyond the kitchen. I’d spend hours in the garden, where I began to notice a different kind of sweetness—earthy and alive—in sun-warmed woods, the softness of petals, the dry brightness of sunlit grasses, and the quiet sweetness carried by the breeze.

The perfumes I love most reflect a sense of continuity—natural and nuanced, textured and warm. While I still love baking and sweets, I’m equally drawn to the scents of the outdoors—vanilla compositions that feel more aromatic, atmospheric, and gently grounded than overtly edible. There’s something endlessly comforting about the vanilla pod, the flower, and the scented world they evoke. These vanillas gently defy the idea that vanilla is only for winter. Each one wears beautifully in warmer weather—fresh, comforting, and softly grounding.

I love how scent offers a moment of brightness, breath, and quiet beauty. I hope one of these fragrances stirs your curiosity—or touches something quietly tender in your heart or memory.
